KITCHEN COUNTER TOPS

kitchen counter-top is made either out of "granite" or green marble. While any spray cleaner off the shelves of your local supermarket could prove itself too harsh - therefore damaging - for the delicate makeup of calcite-based stones like marble, travertine, limestone, etc., theoretically it could be safely used to clean "granite" and green marbles (at least most of them). However, all true granites and many other "granites" (stone that are traded as granite, but granite are not) and all green marbles need to be sealed with a good-quality impregnator-type penetrating sealer (Mb-4 is an excellent impregnator and, to the best of my knowledge, the only one that comes with a 20-year warranty), and these sealers - although invisible - must be dealt with from a maintenance point of view. In other words, while generic spray cleaners wouldn't (maybe) damage the stone itself, they could turn out to be detrimental to the impregnator-sealer, which will eventually lead to staining of your unprotected counter top. In order not to take chances,

DO clean regularly you kitchen counter top with "Mb-5" Marble, Granite and More Spray Cleaner, full strength, especially in proximity of the cooking and eating areas.

DON'T let any spill sit too long on the surface of your counter top. Clean spills up (preferably by blotting) as soon as you can.

Thanks for this useful stuff. I have used the soapstone, it is works really well. It is really durable and good looking. Soapstone has great soft smooth quality and fits a variety of design options. I really love them!

I felt the necessity to add some more helpful tips of how a granite countertop could be well cleansed and sanitized. Since granite tile countertops contain a porous composition so it really requires maintenance ranging from sealing, waxing and polishing. Failure to properly maintain this material will cause its surface to lose its luster and can stain. A daily maintenance therefore should be considered from day – to – day. This can be done by cleaning the said countertop with a pH neutral solution, immediately removing spilled liquids from the leaf surface with a clean, soft and absorbent cloth. Re – sealing and waxing can be done regularly (normally done annually) for waterproofing.

Whew!Very detailed explanation about cleaning the counter tops.
Thanks anyways! I simply clean it through wiping a wet clothe with soap and chlorine. Indeed, I really make it sure to clean it after used to avoid
germs and possibly cockroaches crawling on it.
